A User's Guide to the Brain

Ratey, considered an expert in the field of psychiatry and neuroscientific research, uses his book, A User's Guide to the Brain: Perception, Attention, and the Four Theaters of the Brain, to systematically explain how the brain functions and how that affects our emotions, reactions, and overall behavior. This fascinating book launched my interest into how the brain learns and changes based on experience, perception, and environmental factors. His chapter on movement was particularly interesting to me as it highlights the strong correlation to both movement and learning. I highly recommend this book to any teacher, parent, or learner who has an interest in digging into how our brain works!
